Compass Minerals Protassium+™ Organic Mid Granular Sulfate of Potash 0-0-50 Plus 17% Sulfur (Aug 2017)
Potassium sulfate is a great source of potassium for gardens. It provides potassium in a stable, pH-neutral form, and some brands are even OMRI listed as certified organic. Organic gardeners are often limited in their choices for potassium fertilizers.
Sulphate of Potash Product Description. Analysis: 0-0-50-18S. Also known as SOP, or potassium sulphate, this product is produced with a variety of processes and source materials; however, most commonly, natural K-containing minerals (e.g. kainite and schoenite) are mined and rinsed with water and salt solutions to remove by-products, creating a concentrated form of K2SO4
Organic Crop Production The basic principles of plant nutrition are the same, what-ever the production system used. Both organic and conven-tional production systems have many common objectives and Managing Potassium for Organic Crop Production By Robert Mikkelsen An adequate K supply is essential for both organic and conventional crop production.

Natural Nitrate of Soda is one of the only non-synthetic mineral sources of nitrogen; it is a naturally mined deposit that contains 16% nitrate nitrogen. This product is 95% natural nitrate of soda and 5% sulfate of potash homogenously mixed and then pelletized, yielding a 15-0-2 analysis.More Details
As a company, we strive to bring you the best selection of organic and/or natural gardening supplies available. While many of our products are either Certified Organic, or approved for Certified Organic Production, we also offer a variety of products that do not qualify for this classification.
Plant Nutrients - Sulfate of Potash. Protassium+ is a dual nutrient source that delivers high potassium and sulfate sulfur with virtually no chloride and low salt index.
A number of junior producers are looking to develop Sulfate of Potash (SOP) or Sulfate of Potash Magnesium (SOPM) projects. The projects could compete with the existing operations of Compass Minerals a
For phosphate and potash these also represent the aims of non-organic farmers. Nutrients from manures are taken into account when deciding fertiliser use; phosphate and potash are applied to replace the nutrients removed in the crop in order to maintain soil fertility and nutrient status.
Potassium Sulfate is a very important product. It's used to supply potassium. Conventional agriculture, for the most part, supplies potassium with a muriate of potash or what's called 0-0-60. We don't handle that because it has chlorides. It's potassium chloride which is very detrimental to soil biology.
Mix in muriate of potash or sulfate of potash. Muriate of potash, or potassium chloride, and sulfate of potash, or potassium sulfate, are natural minerals. Muriate of potash tends to be cheaper, but the chlorine it contains can hurt the helpful microbes living in your garden's soil. Sulfate of potash is safer, but it's a bit more expensive.
Potash fertilizer increases the pH in soil so should not be used on acid loving plants such as hydrangea, azalea and rhododendron. Excess potash can cause problems for plants that prefer acidic or balanced pH soils. It's wise to do a soil test to see if your soil is deficient in potassium before using potash in the garden.

Potash (/ ˈ p ɒ t æ ʃ /) includes various mined and manufactured salts that contain potassium in water-soluble form. The name derives from pot ash, which refers to plant ashes soaked in water in a pot, the primary means of manufacturing the product before the industrial era.
Natural Sulfate of Potash. Natural Sulfate of Potash (K 2 SO 4) is a natural potash mineral that contains 51 percent soluble potash and 18 percent sulfur. It also contains trace amounts of calcium and magnesium.
Organic Langbeinite & other Potassium (Potash) Fertilizers Potassium supplies three vital plant nutrients that contribute strongly to overall plant health by regulating internal processes. Since potassium makes up part of the fluid of the plant, it is found throughout plant tissue, meaning plants need a strong source of potassium as they grow.
Natural Sulfate of Potash, Magnesia. Natural Sulfate of Potash, Magnesia (2MgSO 4 • K 2 SO 4), commonly referred to as Sul-Po-Mag or K-Mag (these are brand names), is a natural mineral salt, called langbeinite, and typically contains 22 percent potash, 11 percent magnesium and 23 percent sulfur.
Description. This is an all-natural, moderate to fast-release, mined source of potassium (50%) and sulfur (18%) from Ogden, Utah. Average use rate is 1 lb/100 sq ft or 200-500 lb/acre depending on soil analysis and crop.
Use these single-nutrient organic fertilizers when your garden is deficient in potassium, but has enough nitrogen and phosphorus for healthy plant growth. If your garden needs an all-around fertilizer boost, use a good balanced organic fertilizer. See below for application rates for these organic potash sources:
Potassium sulfate (in British English potassium sulphate (SOP), also called sulphate of potash, arcanite, or archaically known as potash of sulfur) is the inorganic compound with formula K 2 SO 4. It is a white water-soluble solid. It is commonly used in fertilizers, providing both potassium and a source of sulfur
OMRI listed for certified organic production. Mined, all natural source of potash (50%) without chlorine. Also contains 18% sulfur. Use ½ lb. per 100 sq. ft. or 200 lbs. per acre. Protassium+ Premium Potassium Source for Organic Production. Not all potash meets the USDA National Organic Program standards and requirements for organic food production. And only one brand of sulfate of potash has been used in organic farming in the United States for more than 30 years.
Because of its high concentration of potassium, Sulfate of Potash helps plants utilize nitrogen more efficiently while, at the same time, balancing the effect of excess nitrogen and calcium. The use of Sulfate of Potash may also reduce boron requirements. Sulfate of Potash can decrease water requirement of plant
